Eagles Counter Friars Offensive Attack in Trinity League Victory
With Playoff Implications on the line the Santa Margarita Eagles, on Senior Day, rose to the occassion in the second half to hold off the Servite Friars on their way to a 11-8 win. The Eagles got off to a fast 2-0 start but the Friars fought back to a 4-3 lead. From there it was game on as the defense tightened up in the second half on both sides of the ball. Paul J. Eagles Braves Go into 4th Scoreless - Bosco Survives Eagles Defense
What a game! The Eagles continue to play inspired football especially on the defensive side of the ball. They held the St. John Bosco Braves scoreless through 3 quarters. Eagles Wins Streak Ends, Olympians Capitalize on Penalty
The Eagles of Santa Margarita traveled to Lawndale, CA for their final non-league game of the season. They faced the undefeated Leuziner Olympians. The Eagles best player, Trent Mosley, was sidelined and did not play. That was a relief to the Olympians but the Eagles still came out and scored first. A tight game to the end, a wild penalty after and Eagles TD, a pass interference call in the end zone off an SM interception and a late TD by the Olympians were the difference makers in this game.
