District 68 San Juan Capistrano Little League Triple A Champions
The Little League Baseball Season is heating up in more ways than one as the Angels took on the Yankees for the San Juan Capistrano Little League Triple A Championship. Bottom of the 1ts a great catch made at 2nd base by Eli Robles as the Yankees were primed, pumped and ready to play. The Yankees are led by Coach Dino Cancellieri and Jeff Hatz. They do a great job coaching and leading the boys. On the mound Ian Gottron catches the Angels looking to get out of the inning. We go to the bottom of the 1 st and the Yankees big bats were brewing. A surprise comebacker to the pitcher that is too hot to handle…Cameron Fox breaks for third and slides in safely as the Yankees had runners on the corners. The first run of the game comes when Fox is able to score from third on this pass ball. The next pitch gets loose as it hits the batters and once again the Yankees are in business with base runners. With two on Robert Gonzalez rips this pitch past the infield and into the gap as two-runners come around to score. The two-run double gave the Yankees a 5-0 lead. A little later on in the 1st the base paths were active as the double-steal was on. Gonzalez scores and the Yanks were up 4-0. Ian Gottron comes up and trys to help out, he hits a ball down the 1st base side and the Angels make a strong defensive play to steal a hit. Austin Hatz was on third and he scores the 5th run of the inning on this pass ball. At the end of 1 the Yanks had a comfortable lead of 5-0. Great pitching prevailed early for the Yankees as Gottron struck out not one batter, but two and then the third batter of the inning as the Angels went down swinging in the Top half of the first. We move to the bottom of the 2nd, Jonathan Jasso moves to second on this base hit up the middle and the Yanks looked like they were on the move again…Not so fast, Hunter Sweeney gets out of the inning with this clutch strike out as the score remained 5-0. In the top of the third, Tyler Lee trys to get out of the way but gets hit on the foot. After a moment he got up and was good to go. Actually he was just fine as he steals 2nd base to get in scoring position. Lee eventually worked his way to 3rd and scores their first run off this pass ball. After a batter the Angels get their 2nd run off this comebacker to the mound, the play goes to first which gives times for the runner on third to score making it a 5-2 ball game. Good diving stop and attempt made here by the Angels SS Max Beach. The throw was not in time but a great effort. Ian Gottron places this ball nicely on the shelf in short center as the Yanks get their 6th run of the game. The Angels get out of the inning on this play to short as Beach scoops it up and delivers softly to lee at 2nd base for the out. We move to the bottom half of the 4th, Cade Calderon rips this triple to left field. Cade has just enough to get him into third before the tag is applied. The Yanks capitalize on Calderons’ hit as Eli Robles turn on the jets to beat the throw …Coach Dino is fired up as Robles gets the hit and the rbi. Robert Gonzalez comes up and he lines a shot down the line at third scoring a run – he tries to stretch it into a triple but the ball beats him to third. Tag applied and the Angels get out of the inning but they were down 10-3. The top of the 5th, Tyler Lee finds the gap in right-center with the bright afternoon sun covering the outfield. Lee eventually finds himself on third. On the pass ball he has his sights set on scoring and he does as the Angels get their 4th run on the board. Austin Hatz stops the bleeding as he strikes out the batter for the third out in the inning. Hatz gets things going in the bottom of the 5th with this solid base hit. Ian Gottron hits a wicked fly ball that one is too hard to see in the sun and two has every one fooled as Hatz goes safely into 2nd. The base paths are alive with runners as the bat meets ball again for the Yanks which means trouble for the Angels. Another run scores and the Yankees are well in control of this game. A Little bit later on Jonathan Vasso is at 2nd. The hot grounder is hit to short, Beach picks it up, he races to second for one out but two the 15th run comes across which gives the Yankees a ten run lead making this game a mercy. The Yanks play a great game defeating the Angels 15-5. After the game Preston Higgins caught up with Yankees head coach Dino Cancellieri. The starting pitcher for the Yanks was Ian Gottron, he had a clutch performance on the mound and at the plate. Once again the Yankees defeat the Angels for he San Juan Capistrano Triple A Championship 15-5. For Preston Higgins, I am Paul Higgins thanks for watching Kids In Motion here on aim sports.tv.
