Centennial Huskies SM Eagles Go into OT to Decide a Game with Many First

An excellent non-league game with a flea-flicker TD on the very first play of the game got this one going in front of a large crowd at Trabuco Hills High School in the city of Mission Viejo, CA. Carson Palmer of SM and his staff were looking for his "first" win as a head coach as this game had many first. A victory would not come easy as this game had a late comeback and OT before it was decided. Paul J. Standing Room Only Watch Diablos and Eagles - Carson Palmer Debuts as Head Coach, One Play Makes Difference

Over 5,000 fans attended the first high school football game of the season for the Mission Viejo Diablos and the Santa Margarita Eagles. This was Carson Palmer's debut as the new Head Coach of the Eagles. Having won two CIF-SS Championships with the Eagles in the 90's Carson knows what it's like to play in big games. This was a big game to start the season as Coach Chad Johnson of the Mission Viejo Diablos welcomed the challenge. Top tier athletes were showcased with plenty of talent that will play on Saturday's across the nation in college. But for now we were treated to a hard fought physical game of high school football. One big touchdown was the difference but two-holding plays by the Eagles marked their destiny on this night. Paul J.
